Just went through all of the numbers for the 2014 Fall Forecast for Chinooks. Oh Man, does it look good! If you are not on our calendar, you are going to miss one of the biggest returns in years! Those of you that were here, do you remember 2007? Yeah, kind of like that! Enjoy the rest of your week…Good news!
Spring Chinook! Also considered Summer Chinook. Either way, magnificent fish. Difficult to fish for at times, but the reward is some of the brightest, best tasting fish nature has to offer. Perfect for fair weather fishermen, and someone who likes firm, and fatty fish for the grill, or the smoker…May through July…
Fall Chinooks! Lots of fish, and fall colors. The biggest and baddest of the entire year. Bobber fishing for them is our specialty. By far, our favorite time of the year!
Summer Steelhead! Warm weather, and long days. May through early September. Early mornings to mid day, with a nice fire and cocktail in the afternoon.
Steelhead fishing all winter and Spring. December through April. Always an adventure!
We crab and clam, all summer long, and into early fall. Hot in the valley! Nice and cool at the beach…
We are nearing the end of April. The weather is the typical Spring Time stuff. Wet, sun, cool, warm, and breezy. It`s all good. Finished the week with another exam from the surgeon. All went well. Totally ahead of the curve. Continued mobility excersizes and now stretching. With the results, there will not be a therapist involved. All me! Three more weeks of this stuff, then some strength stuff, and good to go. Very Impressive. Not bad for two totally torn tendons, full retraction, repair sutures and screws. In four weeks.
As for the rest! Lots of comments on us, the website, and other area`s. For those of you that know us, know we have a ton of integrity, do not lie, and are scared and threatened by nothing. Certainly not by someone who feels the need to bash. Does`nt bother us at all. Our network is large. And, if you make a comment toward us, atleast get the facts straight, which you did not, and if you pay attention a little more carefully, you will know there were no names mentioned in “river concerns”…Atleast you dropped names. You know why people talk behind your back? Because they are behind you! The fact is, it always comes down to jealousy and envy, and you cannot please everyone.
Moving on from that. We are professional, and far from new to fishing. This blog is to express thoughts, to inform, and have fun. Everyone likes to see pictures, and to further experience a memory. It will remain that way. The funny part, is that many look at our pages to see what is going on, and enjoy the site. Over 500 a day in fact!
For the rest, we have a ton of plans coming up. Continued recovery, not just for us, but for several of our good friends. Some traveling, and building of new stuff, sending people to the airport for up North seasons, and some much needed water time for us. There you go! Some drama, but mostly “Good”, for a change!
Fish With Us!
We are getting some nice Spring showers now. Won`t be long, and the summer fish will be here. This Friday, we have another round of what are we going to do, when it comes to operating. Hoping I get the “all clear”, and can begin the process of boating again. As it stands, we have 6 days left to fill for summer fishing. More if Alaska doesn’t call. For now, very limited time, so if you want a day, call! If you cannot make it, we have a hand full of days left for the fall, for September tide. So, if you want to fish, Come June 1st, lets go! What better time to get on the water, and catch a Spring Chinook, or Summer Steelhead?
Today is Good Friday. Sunday is Easter. This has been a hard week. Healing was going well, and pain and soreness was getting better. As the week went on, there were some set backs. A couple of odd moments, and of course, traveling to do some chores and shopping was a pain.
As the weekend comes, we will be resting as much as we can. I had a huge round of treatment today, and am going to re new my routine of herbs, vitamins, and tons of juice and food. Work on mobility, and see if I can get over the hump. Even still, I am only three weeks from getting filleted.
Things are going well for the up and coming seasons. Alaska is yet to be determined. But, as you can tell, it is certainly on our minds. Especially Reds. There is just something about thousands of fish marching by in a day, and being jammed into upper holes to near suffocation. Not to mention constant action.
Getting things ready for the summer fishing, and for the fall. Been doing some new things for baits, so looking forward to that. And, so neat developments for us, and the future.
So, we are just waying the good with the bad. Minds are strained for sure, and remaining calm through healing is difficult at best. Hoping to see some major improving within a short period of time. A round of doctors visits coming right up, so a plan will be set for the future.
For now, Have a wonderful holiday weekend, and please remember what it really is, other than furry little animals and candy!
