Come On Fall…

We just finished our summer fishing.  A little early this year.  More time to totally heal up, and work or numerous chores and details around the house.
The new surprise will be here soon, and we plan on getting everything ready for the fall.  Some fun fishing, and some crabbing to come.  Food prep and egg curing to come.
Vinny is coming into his own, Sara is close to a needed break from work, and the yard is turning into the jungle we are wanting.
Most of the surgery bills have been paid, recovery is coming together a little more, although slower now.  Much improved.
For now, taking a break from the blog, social network, and on the computer for the most part.  If you need to get in touch, the old fashioned way is our way, for the current times.  So, please give us a real phone call, or stop on by.
  See you in the “FALL”!!!

Summer Solstice…

This is Solstice week.  The longest day of the year.  Both summer, and winter solstice, have been special to us, for a long time.  Both times have been full of adventure, and lots of memories.  Enjoy a good beverage or two, and a nice grilled supper in celebration.  Have a good weekend, and maybe one of these days, we can post some new pictures.  For now, this is what it looks like in the Arctic at around 1am on June 21st…

Thankyou…

Been kind of a whirlwind week, and weekend for us.  All kinds of neat things.

Although, shoulder pain is still there, and pretty much constant.  I was released by the surgeon on Wednesday.  All repaired and in the clear!  Ten weeks…Lets see someone else get two totally torn cuff tendons fully repaired and be good to go in that time frame…Hard work paid off.
Going through the changes with the company.  Totally focused on starting fresh and new.  Hopefully the time spent on all of the details, will be worth it.  Already seeing a few results.  Meeting new people, and messing with some of the new gear.  Waiting for the significant part is like torture though, and yes, it is sort of a secret, even though a few found out somehow.
As for the rest.  Today is fathers day.  I could care less personally.  But, I would like to wish my “Mom”, and wonderful day.
Most of all, Thankyou to all who made the effort to come and work yesterday.  It was the annual fin clipping party at Rhodes Pond.  A volunteer group of anglers and the public, raising Fall Chinooks for the future.  The turn out to help out was amazing.  From the past, it seemed to be the largest group ever to attend.  Saw a lot of old faces, and met some new ones to.  Hopefully a couple of the guys and gals come to part of our family as well.  The fish were taken care of, and seemed to be doing well.  Minimal mortality, so that is good.  And, a good surprise to see certain people there.  I do not name any names, but Thankyou to you all.  It is nice to see some actually care about a resource.  I continually take a bashing by some.  By those who do not know me, us, our affiliations, and our history.  You would be shocked by how much we have done behind the scenes here, and for how long.  We have said it before, and we will say it again.  We are fishermen, yes, but huge environmentalists as well.  Do not ever forget that!  If you really want to know some of our history, ask…
A huge Thanks to all who came and helped.  We will see the results in the future.  And certainly in 4 and 5 years, with big, strong, and healthy Fall Chinooks.  Maybe even a chromer or two for the grill too!
New computer soon, then we can post some new pictures…Have a wonderful week…

Summer Time Blues…

Going to miss the summer in Alaska this year!  Looks that way at this point.  Who knows, might get a call.  With everything else going on, it is not all bad.  But, for sure will miss the reds.  Man, it is so much fun being on a bar, and seeing thousands of fish go by in a day.  Not to mention a blast to catch and eat!
As for the rest.  We made a serious decision…But, we are keeping it a secret…You have to book a tidewater fall trip to find out…

The Latest…

We will add some more as we know more.  We still cannot post any new pictures, due to system failure.  If we can post, they are of old and past times for a little while longer.

There are some changes going on around here.  As things come along, we will keep you up on the latest happenings.
Recovery on surgery has slowed a little.  More of a stall in the pain areas.  Mobility is fair to good, but still soreness, and twinges of sharp pain.  Will know a whole lot more next week.
Fishing was out of control good a little bit ago.  It has since slowed way down.  Fishing has been good at times down in various tidewater area`s.  We are in a dry spell right now, with warm winds, and clear blue skies.  This week, the pressure has been pretty heavy, with the free fishing week.  The next shot of cooler and damp weather should re start a pretty good shove of fish.  For now, here is an older shot from a stud king, caught by a friend of ours…Have a wonderful weekend, and stay safe.  We will be back with news shortly!
