Way Back…

This was the first Chinook I ever caught in the ocean.  We were moored at Riverbend in Newport.  That place is now just a run down storage area now.  Full of junk, as it once was a booming marina!  That place was packed and super busy all of the time.

It was caught in the prop wash of our boat. Tokamo!  It bit a two day old anchovy, that had dried to the deck, with crappy line, and rusty hooks!  There you go, a shot from long ago, a blast from the past…At least there was a bright spot from time to time.  The rest is another story.blognewport#1

The Messenger…

Had an amazing day the other day!  Solved a lot of problems, but nice to cruise the river, with no pressure.  There are always twists and curves, but things eventually work out, and the issues ease.  That is what the river helps with.  Either way, no details, just a nice day, with a really good dude.  A caught a Hell of a lot of fish too.  In between hail squalls atleast.
